
Green Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 ⅓ lbs ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 slices fresh mozzarella
- 1 heirloom tomato cut into thick slices
- 4 tbsp basil pesto
- 4 burger buns or sourdough waffles
Instructions
- Heat a skillet and add the olive oil. Place the burgers in the pan and cook to desired internal temperature.
- When the burgers are almost done, add a fresh mozzarella slice to each one and allow it to melt slightly. You can add a small amount of water and put a lid on the pan to melt it more quickly.
- Allow the burgers to rest for a few minutes after they are done.
- While the burgers rest, toast the burger buns in the pan.
- Assemble the burgers by adding the slices of tomato and 1 tablespoon of pesto per burger.
