Gluten Free BBQ Pizza

One of my favorite ways to have pizza. We made our own bbq sauce from whole foods on the food cart, but you can easily use any gluten free bbq sauce that you enjoy, Sweet Baby Ray's would work well.

  • 1 recipe pizza dough
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups pulled chicken or pork
  • ¼ cup bacon cooked and chopped
  • ¼ cup cilantro optional
  • ½ cup bbq sauce


  • Prepare pizza dough according to the recipe or use a prepared crust. See note 1
  • Thinly slice the onion and cook in a pan with the butter until onions are carmelized.
  • Spread about 1 cup of marinara sauce and ¼ cup bbq sauce on the ready to bake pizza crust.
  • Spread the cheese over the top, reserving about a half cup.
  • Spread the chicken or pork over the cheese and carmalized onions and bacon on top.
  • Sprinkle the reserved ½ of cheese on top and drizzle the rest of the bbq sauce evenly over the top.
  • Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until dough is baked and cheese is melted.
  • Add the chopped cilantro on top as a garnish (optional) right before serving.
