This seasoning mix started as trying to recreate a simple garlic salt. 

But this is more than garlic salt. So much more. 

It has more depth of flavor and a better flavor profile than any of the ingredients by themselves. 

The most important thing is the salt, do not replace it with anything else. Do not try to substitute it. This is where I get it from, but it can be found in most grocery stores as well (follow the link for the best prices I’ve been able to find).

If anyone reading this loved the fries on the food cart, this is the seasoning. We used a frozen boxed fry and coated it in this seasoning mix. And people could not get enough of the fries. All because of this seasoning mix.

I used this mix on everything savory we made. Unfortunately, when we had someone with a garlic allergy it was difficult to work around. But that was the only downside I’ve come across. 

I highly recommend making and using this mix for everything you make to give it that extra bit of magic.

  • 1 cup granulated garlic
  • 1 cup pink Himalayan salt
  • 1/4 cup dried parsley flakes

  1. Mix the ingredients together well. 
  2. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.

The most important bit of advice I can give about this recipe is to follow it exactly. 

The most important thing is to use Himalayan pink salt. No, you cannot substitute it and have the same results. 

It seems so simple, how can it really be that great of a seasoning mix? Honestly, I don’t know. This is one of those things that I tried out once and it somehow was simply amazing. 

Like I mentioned above, we used this on the food cart fries. The fries themselves were nothing special, but this seasoning mix put that added magic on them. I had frequent customers who told me they were addicted to the fries. 

That they were so different than any other fries they’d tried before. The only difference could have been this seasoning mix. 

This wasn’t one or two people. We heard this every day, all day.

We also used it in just about everything else. Every burger had it, the dry rub for the pork had it. 

Somehow the ingredients just combine together and create something so much greater than their parts. 

So trust me on this, just try it out. 

If you don’t have pink salt around, shop around for a good price. The prices vary dramatically but it shouldn’t be that expensive to get a smaller amount. You can adjust the size of the recipe up or down easily. I usually do about a gallon at a time and store it. 

I love that this is a seasoning mix that I can control the ingredients and be sure that it is gluten free.
