Grainmaker – Additional Information

Every business has its own story. Businesses that are dedicated gluten free are particularly rich in passion and history. This section is dedicated to the people working hard every day to provide safe gluten free food to those that need it and honor them.

Grainmaker says that they have five simple values

  1. Be Original
  2. Make A Difference
  3. It Starts At The Table
  4. Strengthen Our Community
  5. Be A Positive Influence

The community is important to this business, they have a list of local businesses they partner with on the website including food suppliers and even a ceramics artist!

Grainmaker is Boston born and began with the simple belief that food can change lives for the better. Inspired by a journey through Southeast Asia, we combine the diverse flavors of street food with the region’s most essential ingredient: the humble grain.

They are also a leader in reusable packaging, starting in 2019 they started selling glass reusable containers. You purchase them once and when you bring them back you get a discount and new packaging each time! They have a goal to end the waste in packaging.

I want to say that I really love this idea. When I ran my food cart I used only compostable packaging, but it opened my eyes to the incredible waste going on in the restaurant industry. They actually became the first reuseable packaging concept in the world when they started this in 2019.

Every meal we serve embraces the deeply rooted connection between man, woman, and nature through original grains, locally-sourced produce whenever possible, and humanely-raised meats, prepared fresh every day. The greatest movements begin with one small seed and we’re growing ours into a thriving community every day.

All the food they serve is based on grain. They claim that their food is inherently healthy as it is Southeastern Asian cuisine. They use locally sourced and sustainably farmed vegetables and proteins. Besides being a dedicated gluten free location, they are also a dedicated dairy-free location as well.

Across Southeast Asia, rice is so essential and sacred that it is worshiped as a Goddess.

They are constantly innovating to bring delicious flavors from Asia like ginger, lychee, and lemongrass to their food in new and exciting ways. Head over to the map to check out the nearest location or grab their address and contact info below!

My passion is supporting those who need to be gluten free. After my family had to transition to eating gluten free I realized how difficult it is. It is more than finding a recipe. It is about how to navigate social situations, deal with isolation, and other things that come along with it. I live in Oregon with my family, cats, and chickens.
