Craft Kafe – Additional Information

Every business has its own story. Businesses that are dedicated gluten free are particularly rich in passion and history. This section is dedicated to the people working hard every day to provide safe gluten free food to those that need it and honor them.

I love to start these business highlights with a good quote. The owner of Craft Kafe leaves this great explanation of their mission on their website.

‘Craft Kafe is a vision of mine that I had the 18 years ago. An organic gluten-free place where we know the origins of what we are making. Where there is a stone mill and making fresh ingredients in the most nutritionally viable way possible is something I was very interested in and wanted in my town. I love coffee – it’s an experience, a ritual, that we have everyday. People are now wanting to savor and appreciate the moments of right now and live in the moment. As much as coffee speeds us up, it helps us stay in the moment when we are among our friends and our family. I opened Craft Kafe to help that experience. You have great food and great coffee and you’re building moments.’

Teddy Skiadiotis, Owner of Craft Kafe

As someone who loves a good cup of coffee, others might say I run on coffee, I appreciate the care and attention they are putting into it. And they don’t just have a few basic pastries, they have a whole menu to go on the side of that cup of coffee. Completely gluten free, of course.

The attitude of this cafe will be refreshing to so many who have struggled to explain they need gluten free food and been met with blank stares or “what can you eat?” Craft Kafe says gluten free is easy! They just don’t use wheat or other gluten-containing grains but make products that taste like the staples you’ve been missing.

They even mill their own flour! No wonder they say it’s easy to do gluten free. Milling anything they want to use would allow them to have the best ingredients at their fingertips. Anything they purchase must be certified gluten free.

The reason to do this is for the peace of mind of gluten free customers. And when we’re eating out at dedicated gluten free establishments, that’s what we need. And that’s why we are willing to pay the often premium costs at these locations. And Craft Kafe’s online menu prices are comparable to any other restaurant, gluten free or not.

Fawn

My passion is supporting those who need to be gluten free. After my family had to transition to eating gluten free I realized how difficult it is. It is more than finding a recipe. It is about how to navigate social situations, deal with isolation, and other things that come along with it. I live in Oregon with my family, cats, and chickens.
