Chambelland – Additional Information

Every business has its own story. Businesses that are dedicated gluten free are particularly rich in passion and history. This section is dedicated to the people working hard every day to provide safe gluten free food to those that need it and honor them.

Thomas and Nathaniel started Chambelland coming from two diverse backgrounds. Thomas was a biologist-turned-baker and Nathaniel worked in advertising. But they were both passionate about good gluten free food.

The motivation behind their work comes from the observations of gluten free bread already available and the knowledge that they could improve upon it. They use rice and buckwheat to make their flours. They focus on this project in order to improve on the lives of gluten free people.

Paris was the first location, started in 2012.

Their dedication to ingredients extended to the main ingredients used in their products – rice and buckwheat. They work closely with the farmers and created their own supply chain. To ensure the flour they used would remain gluten free they worked to set up their own gluten free mill. From the description on their website, this was not an easy task in France!

It’s obvious from the description on their website they care about the quality of the ingredients as well as a dedication to supplying gluten free food that would remain gluten free for the end product. Going as far as setting up their own mill when one wasn’t available to do what they needed!

On a personal note, I hope they start shipping to the US soon because I’d love to try their products! Maybe I’m due for another trip to Pair soon.

Fawn

My passion is supporting those who need to be gluten free. After my family had to transition to eating gluten free I realized how difficult it is. It is more than finding a recipe. It is about how to navigate social situations, deal with isolation, and other things that come along with it. I live in Oregon with my family, cats, and chickens.
